Craig Hall is an award-winning filmmaker with over twenty years experience in documentary, branded content, and narrative production. He currently works as a Director of Photography and Camera Operator in Western Canada and brings creative and technical expertise to non-fiction and narrative projects.
Drawn to the art of cinematography, Craig studied camera operation and studio lighting at The Banff Centre for the Arts & Creativity. A unique opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of digital cinematography, studio lighting, and camera movement, Craig collaborated with artists from North America, Europe and Australia to create award-winning music videos, documentaries and commercials.
Today, Craig works closely with directors and producers to meticulously plan and implement studio and field shoots across Western Canada. He brings strong handheld camera skills, expertise with specialized camera equipment such as remote heads and motion control, and a hands-on approach to sculpting light for both naturalistic and expressionistic looks.
Craig regularly works with out-of-town clients from Los Angeles, New York, and London and has shot for clients such as A&E Networks, History Channel, Red Bull Media House, Spotify, Intel, and Microsoft. He is also an avid runner, climber, and snowboarder and is skilled at shooting adventure sports.
